Organization Overview:
The Huntington’s Disease Society of America (HDSA) is the largest national, voluntary health organization dedicated to finding a cure, improving treatment and helping to improve the lives of people and their families touched by this devastating disease. The Team Hope Walk for HD is HDSA’s signature, nationwide walking campaign designed to raise vital dollars to help support its mission. Taking place at eight locations within five major markets, this exciting event is poised for rapid growth.

Huntington's Disease is a devastating, hereditary, degenerative brain disorder for which there is, at present, no effective treatment or cure. HD slowly diminishes the affected individual's ability to walk, think, talk and reason. Eventually, the person with HD becomes totally dependent upon others for his or her care. Huntington's Disease profoundly affects the lives of entire families -- emotionally, socially and economically.

Position Summary:
The Walk Coordinator, a member of the National Walk Department, will perform a wide variety of campaign functions including fundraising through the acquisition, retention and management of participants, sponsorship sales and coordination, cause-marketing, special event logistics & volunteer development. The ability to locally implement the critical program elements of a national walking campaign and adhere to a timeline is a must. Job requires creative thinking, adherence to timelines and multi task proficiency. Experience with non-profits or special events required. Applicant should be committed, versatile, solution oriented with a high-energy personality.

Requirements:
Minimum of three years of fundraising, non-profit, event management, sponsorship sales, committee development, grant writing, cause-marketing and business related experience; excellent writing, analytical and computer skills; sales and presentation experience; working knowledge of the non-profit and philanthropic industry. Valid Driver’s License and ability to provide own transportation need.
