Since 1977, Sojourner Center has provided shelter and support to thousands of individuals affected by domestic violence. Sojourner Center is a Non-Profit organization, our mission is to overcome the impact of domestic violence, one life at a time. The Advocate I is responsible for providing support and resource for the residential participants and those served through Community Based Outreach. Advocate Iˇ¦s share the responsibility of the Helpdesk and Crisis Line with all other Advocates. In addition to these responsibilities, Advocate Iˇ¦s provide support, resource, and referral to victims of domestic violence through Community Based Outreach. Keys to success in this position are: 1. A keen awareness of the critical nature of services provided to victims of domestic violence who are residing in the community and have minimal support. 2. A strong ability to assist ad support victims of domestic violence with lethality self-assessment and safety planning. 3. A commitment to meeting the day-to-day needs of the women on the campus in a compassionate manner that is in concert with the empowerment dynamic. ADA Requirements: Ability to travel throughout the community, use standard office equipment, and move within standard office. Ability to pass a fingerprint clearance according to ADHS licensure. Qualifications: 2 years of post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent work experience in family violence services.
