Primary Duties: The Development Assistant is responsible for providing the administrative and technical support necessary for maintaining Sojourner Centerˇ¦s donor relations and fundraising efforts. Duties will include: „« Answering donor inquiry calls and coordinating donor involvement until assigned to other staff members as consistent with donor cultivation plan „« Ensuring proper recognition of donations as consistent with donor recognition plan „« Organizing development staff and committee meetings including agendas and meeting minutes „« Creating and maintaining Development Calendar to include events, committee meetings, donor cultivation activities, mailings, and marketing/communication due dates „« Coordinating agency tours „« Data entry and maintaining donor records in Raiserˇ¦s Edge database „« Assisting in the planning and staffing of all special events „« Coordinating the printing of agency materials „« Delivering and picking up items as directed and completing department tasks with use of own car and agency van as needed The position will also support the Development department by assisting with correspondence, document preparation, and communication. This position will provide back-up reception for the Administrative Assistant when necessary. The keys to success in this position are (1) a pleasant disposition and representation of Sojourner Center to donors, staff, and the community, (2) strong attention to detail and project management skills, and (3) the ability to work cooperatively with other departments within the agency. Qualifications: A minimum of 3 years experience in an office setting or customer service industry and a basic understanding of non-profit organizations is preferred. A demonstrated ability to write, communicate orally and organizational ability are essential. Computer skills regarding word processing and database management are necessary.
