Position Description
This position will participate in all phases of the software development life cycle, including the design, development, testing and support of an enterprise data warehouse application. Position Responsibilities
- Provide support, maintenance and issue investigation and resolution for front and back-end ETL processes.
- Work closely with the business and project teams to understand, document and design ETL processes and needs.
- Develop and maintain Business Objects Universes.
- Plan and coordinate ETL and database roll-outs with project team members, development and database engineers.
- Develops and maintains mapping logic to move data content from varied sources systems to the data warehouse and data marts.
- Design, Develop, Test, Optimize and Deploy Business Objects Data Integrator packages and experience with DTS packages and stored procedures to perform all ETL related functions.
- Provide training and mentorship to other team members on Business Objects/Crystal Reports and Data Warehouse Reporting skills.
- Act as a technical resource to support end-users with issues arising from the applications.
- Test and validate new software features prior to implementation.
- Provide detailed project documentation.
Position Qualifications
Highly qualified candidates will have experience with the following technologies/languages:
- Business Objects Data Integrator
- Business Objects Universes
- Crystal Reports
- WEBi Report Templates
- T-SQL
- DTS
- Microsoft SQL Server (2000 and 2005)
- DB2
- Experience with ETL technologies preferred.
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science, Business, Engineering or Liberal Arts or equivalent.
- In depth understanding of Business Objects Report Development.
- Knowledge and experience designing, developing, debugging and deploying SQL Server stored procedures, triggers, T-SQL, and DTS.
- Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of business productivity tools: e-mail, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel.
- Self Starting with a results-oriented mindset for both short and long term initiatives.
- The ideal candidate will posses good organizational skills with the ability to balance and prioritize work, multi task, and possess analytical and problem solving skills to trouble shoot system problems.
