Since 1977, Sojourner Center has provided shelter and support services to thousands of individuals affected by domestic violence. Through empowerment, families discover hope and have the opportunity to build a new future free from domestic violence. Position Summary: The Associate Director of Programs serves as a strategic partner on the leadership team and is responsible for the following areas of focus with regard to the Hope Campus and the agency: Program Development and Management, Program Leadership Staff Development, Effective Intra-Agency Collaboration, Development of Community Partnerships The three key skills for the Associate Director of Programs are: Communication: Strong ability to articulate concepts, ideas, and information; Passionate about facilitation of training as a tool for staff and program development; Sees communication as a conduit for all other skills and strengths Discernment and Critical Thinking: Assimilates knowledge, sorting the useful from the superfluous; Asks good questions, listens well, and responds effectively in decision-making and support roles; Balances knowledge of the field of domestic violence with the wisdom gained from experience and support and perspectives from others Team Development: Recognizes the necessity of alignment with the mission among all staff; Grasps the nuances of how a team develops to the point of confidence and high performance; Generates a sense of ownership and investment among program staff Basic Qualifications: Bachelor¡¦s degree in Social Work or a related field and four years of experience in managing programs in human services. A combination of education and experience is acceptable. Fingerprinting required per ADHS licensure.
