Senior Systems Engineer(FileNet Administrator)
GENERAL SUMMARY
Provides technical support for FileNet hardware and software. Consults with
clients and other technical staff on complex FileNet design, implementation, and
maintenance solutions. Evaluates new tools and technologies for FileNet. Manages
FileNet vendor relationships, and problem resolution. Responsible for capacity
planning and performance tuning.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Installs, configures, and maintains UNIX/FileNet hardware, operating systems
and systems management software.
- Works closely with clients, vendors, and other technical staff to identify and
resolves complex issues or problems that impact the UNIX/FileNet environment.
- Consults with clients and other technical staff on complex UNIX/FileNet
design, implementation, or maintenance issues. Analyze business requirements and
recommends technical solutions.
- Provides technical support for UNIX/FileNet application development.
- Researches, evaluates, and recommends new tools and technologies for
UNIX/FileNet.
- Works with technical staff on design and implementation of complex large scale
UNIX/FileNet systems and applications.
- Provides capacity planning and manges performance of the UNIX/FileNet
environment.
- Provides system administrative support for Relational Database servers.
- Performs other duties as required.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent
experience.
- Significant experience (usually 5+ years) in FileNet as a systems
administrator with previous experience in a distributed processing environment.
- Significant knowledge and technical understanding of O/S (UNIX) and network
technologies.
- Experience with capacity planning and performance management tools and
concepts.
- Experience supporting and trouble shooting RDBMS and large heterogeneous
LAN/WAN networks.
- Experience with Shell programming and C/C++ or Java programming languages.
- Excellent consultative and communication skills, analytical ability, and
judgment.
- Ability to work effectively with clients and other technical staff.
- Ability to work independently with little or no direct supervision and to
assume leadership role in project management as needed.
